Driving time: 3 hours from Folsom, CA
I-5 north to Redding
Go about 10 miles north of Redding.
Take the Shasta Dam exit.
Follow Shasta Dam Boulevard about 2 miles.
Take a right onto Lake Boulevard to the Shasta Dam.
After crossing the dam, turn left and travel about 2 miles to the facilities of Chappie OHV.
Check the permit requirements to cross the dam by doing a Google search on 'Shasta Dam'. September 11th caused these permit requirements
